We support students and their families through academic services and informational outreach.

ABOUT US

The Latino Student Fund (LSF) was founded in 1994 to address disparities in access to education for Hispanic students in Washington, DC, and has since served more than 4,000 youth across its programs.

OUR MISSION

Provide opportunities for a strong academic foundation to undeserved PreK-12th-grade students of Hispanic descent. By providing year-round, out-of-school-time programs for low-income, at-risk students and their families, we increase levels of educational attainment in the community.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The Latino Student Fund is actively monitoring the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will be updating our families regularly to share information about our preparations and responses. All programs will be offered through distance learning in coordination with DCPS. We continue to assess and implement ways to help our students and families during this time. Thank you for your support and please practice social distancing while school is out.

WHAT WE DO…

BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION

The greatest strength of our work is the ability to involve the entire family in our programs. By educating families through English classes, school workshops, and computer training, we make learning accessible for every generation.

PROVIDE AN EARLY START

Our initiatives work in concert to encourage a college-going culture from a young age. We provide programs for students starting in pre-school to help combat the short and long-term effects a lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate resources have on a child’s academic potential.

SUPPORT THE FUTURE

Our programs don’t stop once students graduate high school. We create a network of peers and mentors that our students can rely on whether it’s their first year of middle school or first year of college.
