ABOUT THE LSF

The Latino Student Fund (LSF) was founded in 1994 to address disparities in access to education for underrepresented students in Washington, DC, and has since served more than 4,000 youth across its programs.

Our Mission

Provide opportunities for a strong academic foundation for underserved PreK-12th grade students and their families to promote higher education and professional leadership. The organization provides year-round, out-of-school-time programs for low-income, at-risk students and their families with the goal of increasing levels of educational attainment in the community.

TE GUIO PROGRAM

Te Guio mentoring program provides youth in 9th-10th grades with a mentor to guide them on the path to graduate high school, enroll in higher education, and transition to a healthy adulthood. Once students complete the Te Guio program, they are transitioned into the Listo program.

SPRING 2021 DISTANCE LEARNING

Te Guio takes place on Mondays/Tuesdays for 9th graders and Wednesdays/Thursdays for 10th graders from 3pm–6pm. In addition, drop in hours are offered Monday – Friday at 1 pm as well as a Resource Hub on Wednesdays from 1pm-5pm. Students have the opportunity to make an appointment for The Resource Hub, with access to wifi, academic support and snacks. All safety protocols are observed.

Weekly lessons focus on STEM, academic support, and social-emotional learning. The online environment continues to emphasize peer networks and discussions, and provides students the opportunity for one on one mentoring with LSF staff and volunteers.
